Area rugs can be placed in any room you desire and can even be layered over one another to draw attention to a certain part of the room.
Proper area rug placement.
Back in june we were super excited to work with metroflor corp.
In general the rule of thumb is to allow approximately 18 inches of exposed floor space around the perimeter of an area rug however the overall size and location of the room should also be taken into consideration.
While the size of the area rug is important the area rug placement is equally paramount.
Other popular places to place area rugs are in entryways or in front of kitchen or bathroom sinks.
For an area rug to look balanced under a bed it should be large enough to extend beyond the sides of the bed at least 18 inches for a king or queen bed and at least 12 inches for a full or twin bed.
Bedroom rug placement should offer plenty of leeway along the sides of the bed at least 24 36 as we see with the above.
Includes area rug placement diagrams that anyone can easily implement.
Great for hard floors that need a little soft touch.
If you need to go with a slightly smaller rug it should cover at least the area under the bed and give you a good 6 12 at the foot more if you have a bench or chest at the foot of your bed.
